Beneath the Health Insurance Buyer’s Guide table of contents, the DFS placed a NOTE. Here, they identify several heavily tested topics. Since this is a CONSUMER Guide, they don’t bring special attention to these topics… we will.
Buyers Guides contains “GENERIC” policy information.
These GUIDES are designed to help pre-frame insurance sales presentations. Whenever possible, licensees should provide consumers with a guide prior to starting their presentation.
SOMETIMES, a sales presentation sparks out of thin air. Think about scenarios where prospects contact brokers unannounced with questions. The Department of Financial Services understands it’s impossible to pre-frame all sales presentation so, licensees are allowed to proceed directly into a presentation WITHOUT first presenting a guide.
BUYERS GUIDES provide consumers with the SAME Exact Keywords & Concepts new insurance license applicants encounter on the State Exam. From Pre-Licensing to hosting a presentation, our rules of engagement won’t change. If you were my prospect, today I’m pre-frame our upcoming presentation.
Florida’s Insurance Pre-Licensing exam isn’t as easy as memorizing a few definitions. You’ll need to also identify the adjectives highlighting our keywords and concepts. To best illustrate state exam language, I’ve reference legal verbiage and provided the location of where our discussion could be found in NAIFA’s Official State Exam Manual.
Before diving into this Health Insurance & HMO Buyers Guide, let’s reset our brains. You’re NOT studying. Proceed into this segment like the consumer you are. RELAX – Don’t try and think like a Broker. Think like YOU. Right now, you’re my client and I’m going to help make an informed decision. One of my Mentors Retired Air Force Major Kevin Torres once said…
“If you don’t know your rights.
You don’t have many.”
